So, class presented some pretty interesting questions.. and suggestions.
I really enjoyed the quote from one of the books :
"The highest good is like water. It flows in places where humans reject."
It makes me quiver. I'll have to figure out the origin.. I forget.
What is the value of philosophy?
I thought this question was kind of funny. I joked with a friend, and it made him really mad too, that philosophy was just human's petty need to feel supieror in the idea that they have 'thought'... unlike so many other creatures.
Of course, it sounds logical...
but I do think philosophy is interesting in its own and not petty..
otherwise, why would I be taking a class on it?
Because I'm required too...
... or maybe because I'm some alien from another planet sent to study humans on this planet so that I can come back with a report and we can study and find some way to conquer the planet...
yea.... riiiiight.
Anywho.
One of the things presented was that the only thing that really exists is mind.
I thought that was interesting because somewhere I read that if we used 100% of our brains, we wouldn't need our bodies.. we would pretty much just be a ball of light.
In that case, it makes sense. Our minds are powerful, its just that we haven't exercised them enough.
Maybe we were at one point that light and as we are dying (as a whole) we are slowly degrading into these physical things.
Maybe we never were the light and are slowly upgrading into that final magnificent thing?
I don't know.
Probably never will.
